Valerie Keller: Owner, Manager,
Professional
Petsitter
Hi,
I’m Valerie Keller, manager of Colorado Critter
Care. I have lived in Fort Collins for over four years and
really
enjoy taking advantage of all the area has to offer.
I grew up in the small town of Bloomsburg, PA where my
life revolved around animals. My parents had a farm in the country with
sheep (when I was very little), horses and, our household pets:
Boswell, the
Basset Hound; Daisy (the lucky dog that followed Dad and Boswell home
one day);
Muggings, the cat; and Corie, a Border Collie mix who is still living
with my
parents today.
Growing up, I had my own ponies and horses and
rode daily. I was active in 4-H and Pony
Club and competed
in our local Hunter Circuit. Throughout
my life, I worked with a professional horseback riding instructor and
horse
trainer. During high school and summers
home from college, I spent practically everyday at her house riding or
going to
horse shows with my horse Final Flash. While attending the University of Richmond
for my psychology degree, I also worked as a stable manager for a small
fox
hunting farm. I then completed my
Master’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and leased a horse so I could
continue
riding. Over the years, I learned a lot
about horsemanship and taking care of all animals.
Today, I am very
happy to have a career that supports my
love of animals and I look forward to meeting and caring for your pets.
